Reverend
Goulds interest in ecumenical development inspired him
to serve as a staff member of the Church Divinity School of
the Pacific (an Anglican theological college) in Berkeley,
California, at which time he also participated in chaplaincies
in both the San Francisco County Jail and the San Francisco
General Hospital. He took part in student pastorates in the
Domestic Mission of Bethnal Green, London, three congregations
of the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church of Ireland, and
the Unitarian chapel in Taunton, Somerset. His ministry at
Ullet Road Church, Liverpool lasted from 1989 to 1999. Since
1999, he has served the congregations of Hale Chapel, Hale
Barnes, Norcliffe Chapel, Styal and Dean Row Chapel.
The
Minister is a keen fitness enthusiast and enjoys many indoor
and outdoor activities. He is fond of the German language,
literature and cuisine, and enjoyed a sabbatical at the Goethe
Institut in Berlin in 1997. As a native New Englander, he
finds himself very much at home in the northwest of England,
with its many parallels with his place of birth.
